Ms. Syble O'Neal

Syble O’Neal, age 94, of Mt. Ida, passed away September 10, 2013 at Montgomery County Nursing Home.Syble and her husband Argus O’Neal were long time business people of Mt.Ida, owning and operating a grocery and general merchandise store. Syble was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, The Home Extension Club and the Ouachita Art Gallery. She loved to play dominos and card games with her many friends at the Mt. Ida Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Diane Whisenhunt and husband Gilford of Mt. Ida
Pam Short and husband David of Dallas, TX
Son: Doyle O’Neal and wife Janice of Mt. Ida
Grandchildren: Bryan and Donna Whisenhunt of Mt. Ida, Mark and Debra Whisenhunt of Mt. Ida, Tamara and Mike McKee of Benton, AR, Kristi Simmons of Dallas, TX, Kelli and Mike Ramage of Dallas, TX, and Tucker and Cory O’Neal of Houston, TX.
Great Grandchildren: Patricia Whisenhunt, Allison, Michael, and Grant McKee, Kelsey, Katie and Kyleigh Simmons, Cameron and Cole Ramage, and Jackson, Carter and Harrison O’Neal.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Argus O’Neal, parents: James Roston and Mary Doyel, brothers: John and James V. (Dick) Doyel, sisters: Jewel White, Zuma Ambers, Christine Whittington, and Marilyn Berry, great granddaughter: Christina Emily Dawn Whisenhunt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2013 at Faith Tabernacle Church in Mt. Ida at 2 pm with Brother Paul Burke officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Valley Cemetery in Mt. Ida. Pallbearers: Bill Patrick, Harold Hawes, David James, Ty Rowton, Delton Hughes and Ron Young. Honorary Pallbearers: Friends at the Mount Ida Senior Center and staff of the MCNH. No visitation will be held. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mt. Ida.
In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Ida Senior Citizen Center.
